Operation: Save A Life

The Chackbay Fire Department is proud to present “Operation Save A Life”, a public service campaign designed to increase awareness and educate residents about the dangers of fire, its related hazards and how to prevent them. “Operation Save-A-Life” was created to combat the rise in fire related injuries and deaths due to residential fires in our great state. The goal of this statewide initiative is to dramatically reduce these fire related injuries and deaths across the State of Louisiana by providing smoke alarms to vulnerable citizens and at risk communities.

Knox Box

The Chackbay Fire Department participates in the Knox Box Program. Trusted by thousands of fire and law enforcement agencies for over 40 years, Knox Rapid Access Solutions have provided first responders with immediate access into secure buildings, campuses, residences and commercial properties when it matters most. Removing barriers to entry reduces injuries to responders and minimizes property damage. That's the power of the Knox rapid access system.

Residents or business owners can purchase the Knox Box, which is placed next to the main entry door of the home or business. The Fire Department has a secured key that can access the box. Inside the box, residents and business owners will place a key to allow entry into the building. While we recommend all businesses and commercial buildings have a Knox Box, it is also useful for elderly residents who have a higher chance of falls or other injuries.
